Men are more vulnerable to stress
Men’s health is more vulnerable to stress than women, according to a recent study by the journal Psychosomatic Medicine, who participated in the three thousand people in Finland. The research demonstrates how psychological problems such as anxiety and mental exhaustion, increase the harmful effects of stress on health.
The study has an impact on four problematic situations for human beings: death or serious illness of a family member, a victim of some form of violence, whether physical, mental or sexual abuse, interpersonal conflicts, such as divorce and economic difficulties caused for example by the loss of a job.
“Much of the research suggests a relationship between daily stressful situations and subsequent health problems,” says study author Mika Kivimäki, Department of Psychology, University of Helsinki in Finland.
“We found that all of situations that have been discussed above are associated with increased psychological problems and a gradual deterioration of health. The death or illness of a family is classified as the most serious situation.
These results support previous research which states that men are more affected by life events than women. In the men’s sector, as indicated by the reasons for the low men in the study, the conflicts that arise throughout life are associated with psychological problems and increased alcohol and snuff, with consequent health problems. Among women, however, situations of daily life are associated with psychological problems and addiction to snuff, but not sickness.
“The analysis of people who have suffered stress shows that men have the attention of younger society women,” says the author. Often social support helps these individuals to cope with their problems, but the fact of lack of support may explain the increased vulnerability of man “
Combat stress in men
We all know that stress causes the body a series of injuries which may be irreversible. This is common in both women and men.
Symptoms of stress
Men are more sensitive to adrenaline than women. It is true that in small doses can be more effective and better react in case of danger. But if the stimuli that lead to the production of adrenaline are repeated a lot, the body runs out of resources to combat stress.
Then, the safety valve operates, causing fatigue, anger and depression. The symptoms resulting from stress are these: state of permanent alert, resistance and then exhaustion. Here are some tips to combat stress.
1. To determine the factors ansiogenic
The first thing is to realize what we gets on my nerves, because with this we will have begun to combat stress.
Knowing what are the moments when the pace accelerates heart, or when we have back pain, or when we get angry.
2. At work, manage priorities
48% of active people believe that the urgency and volume of work is the primary cause of stress. To combat head-on, we must take the bull by the horns, and we do organize ourselves.
We must establish a weekly planning, defining the priority level of tasks, depending on their importance. Ideally, start with the most urgent, and what work is of greatest importance.
3. Avoid having to drive
60% of the evils that you can charge the car come from stress . It is best to use public transport or shared.
4. The rest of the warrior
The home should be a haven of peace, to welcome the rest of the warrior. Cultivate good relations with your neighbors and friends, so they do not become a problem rather than solve.
If you live in groups, do not forget to ask your boyfriend or girlfriend to give you a massage.
5. Avoid insomnia
It is clear that a good break allows us to recover more easily. The body is better suited to the times and activities scheduled to help us relax before going to bed.
6. Sport
The effort physical allows us to release dopamine and endorphins, hormones of pleasure, and sleepy after sex. So a few wise words … On the other hand, swimming helps us put our whole body moving and defuse all the muscles contracted during the workday.
7. The Zen method
Zen-like activities such as yoga or relaxation therapy are recommended to combat stress. Meditation exercises, breathing and concentration allow us to rebalance our energy centers.
8. Beware of coffee
It is true that coffee is a property of pacing in the body, but ultimately produces the opposite effect. Avoid drinking coffee in large quantities, especially at noon. Some plants have virtues relaxing as linden, passionflower or valerian, and can be a good substitute for coffee.
Work stress depresses more men than women
New research sheds relevant data relating to occupational health, confirming once again that working in a good working environment which the employee makes a healthier life and thus perform their work in a more effective.
Even this research is extremely interesting, as it provides information about the differences that exist between male and female gender on the mental assimilation of their work environments.
Studying a sample of 24,277 individuals who had worked in the past year, scientists from the universities of Calgary (Alberta) and McGill (Quebec) were able to draw conclusions that differ from sex male and female in relation to the impact of unhealthy work environments have in them.
As for the men who worked in environments with high job demands and little control over their tasks, they tended to severely depressed or suffering anxiety because of their employment status.
For women, in situations where they were subject to a work activity requirements of large scale on a par with little control over their work, they are depressed to a lesser degree than men.
Thus we see that all policies aimed at improving the working environment in all cases are positive tools to build not only a work environment friendly and efficient, but also to achieve that employees have a pleasant and healthy life.
I do not understand this need archaic and require some employers require employees to take as machines can not see that always, always, always ahead of work is human, and if man does not work, what does not work. The spending in this sense is never cost is always investment.
Stress and sexuality in men and women
Currently it is not unusual to find one or two per day for people who come to the consultation due to some dysfunction and that after a brief analysis of this is entirely related to a situation of daily stress. I refer to the permanent situation everyday that today the majority suffer almost without realizing it. In fact many of these people to tell them that it is very possible that the stress who is causing the dysfunction they say that no, they are not stressed.
Is normal and therefore less stressful, early to rise almost without breakfast, a large number of people do not, take the car and place it in the concrete jungle in which ruminants and predators mingle and screaming and clawing to get a place parking as close to work for our “blessed” car, moments later our boss tells us we have to finish work yesterday so he can present it today at 14 hours, otherwise you will have no money to collect and therefore our “dear banking service” will be in terrible commitment to keep our only good on earth, our home.
Upon completion of this part of the day back to the jungle asphalt now rages as most users of the same has already given a few shots and between the fear of losing some points as those of someone or you or your beloved car survival hormones soar.
We came home with smoke in the mouth and we eat lunch while the evening news tells us the number of canoes, killed in the road and the shells that have fallen in Beirut, with corresponding numbers of civilian deaths and some other bomb in Iraq, to end with some “sweet” comments Mr Rajoy apocalyptic and the big news that final heat tomorrow. Last bite and the car back to finish the day or the second job for many. More traffic, more head and more realize that we do not hold anything back into our boring savings account.
